Rod Duane Piller passed away at his home, June 22, 2020. He had been an EMT in Kamiah since 1975.
His life was dedicated to helping those who needed medical attention.
At one time, he served at the state prison in Orofino in the clinic with good friend, Jim Van Bargan.
He was really delighted when Bob Pratt chose him to be Assistant Coroner.
Rod and Jo were married in 1967. He enjoyed helping to raise Jay and Joe, two sons who came with her. They fished, camped, and enjoyed doing things together.
Doctor Cleto invited some people to join him for dinner one evening, and asked who would like to begin an EMT class. That became a highlight of many people, and the Kamiah EMT program began.
Rod was born and raised in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. His brother, Greg, still lives there with his wife.
Later in the summer, there will be a celebration of Rod’s life in Coeur d’Alene.
