Juanita Yvonne Fisher Jones, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at her Kooskia home. In passing, she was happily reunited with her eternal sweetheart, DeArmon Doyle Jones, who passed away over seven years ago.
Born May 10, 1936 in La Plata, N.M., to Melba Newton Fisher and Jack Fisher, she grew up all over the western states. The oldest of eight children, she learned to work hard, take care of others, and gained many skills that sustained her throughout her life. Overcoming much tribulation in her life, she chose to be a positive person, who worked to serve all around her with love and compassion.
Juanita was exceptionally skilled at sewing, quilting, knitting, art, working with cows, dogs, horses, and talented at most other things she tried (except maybe cooking, which she did not enjoy).
She did enjoy working hard, living in the mountains, and was an avid reader.
Juanita was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had an unshakeable testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. Serving in many callings, including President of the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations, she found great joy as she did all that the Lord asked of her. She also loved doing Temple and Family History work. Her lifelong pursuit was being like our Savior, in loving, serving and blessing others in every way that she could. She will be missed by all who love her.
She is survived by 10 of her 13 children, 33 of 34 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Graveside services were held Oct. 25 at the Tahoe Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kooskia.
