Francene Olivia Baker (Hardin) of Phoenix, Ariz. passed away April 10, 2019. She was 77.
Francene was born May 29, 1941 in Orofino to Lawrence and Catherine (Armstrong) Hardin. She married Keith Hoyt in October 1960 in Orofino. They divorced in June 1976. She married Ron Baker in October 1995 in Lewiston. He passed away in 2005.
After graduating from high school, Francene was a private housekeeper for Simplot’s in Boise, provided in-home daycare for 30 years, and was a professional seamstress from a young age right up to her death. She was also a medical transcriptionist from 1987 to 1991 in Lewiston and Moscow. She lived in Idaho, Washington, Texas and Phoenix.
She was active at Woodland Friends Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. Her most recent church was Catalyst in Phoenix, where she led a Bible study group.
Francene graduated from Kamiah High School in 1959, Northwest Nazarene University after high school in Nampa, and graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in 1987.
Survivors include her brother, Paul Hardin (Beth) of Clarkston; son, Jonathan Hoyt of Phoenix; daughters, Brendakay Hoyt (Juan) and Rebekah Hoyt of Phoenix; grandchildren Michelle McClellan (Adam) of Visalia, Calif., Jessica Hoyt of Visalia, Kassondra Gracia (Javier) of Phoenix, Alexa Valler, Aaron Hoyt (Beth) of Albia, Iowa, Amber Brown of Phoenix, Landon Hoyt of Visalia, Xavier Brown of Phoenix, Essence Grant of Phoenix, Anna Gano of Phoenix, Venecia Lemus, Anthony Lemus of Phoenix, Rachelle Hoyt-Johnson of Phoenix, and Paulina Hoyt of Show Low, Ariz. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Jeremiah Montano of Visalia, Shelby Eulate of Visalia, Axl Valler of Phoenix, Valentino Gracia of Phoenix, and Reo Eulate of Visalia; and many acquired children and grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Memorial and releasing will be held at Woodland Friends Church on June 22 at 1 p.m. The church is located at 1993 Woodland Road, Kamiah. A potluck reception will follow at the church. Jonathan Hoyt will be the officiant.
