On Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, William E. (Bill) Kuhn gained his wings at the age of 79. He was born March 17, 1939, to William and Etta Kuhn.
He grew up in Hutchinson, Kan., and graduated from Hutchinson High. He married Alice P. Davis on July 11, 1958. They were married for 60 years. In 1987, he moved his wife and five of his seven children and one grandson to Kooskia where he worked as a carpenter and a cabinet-maker and then he went to work for school district 241 as a school bus driver then retired in 2004.
He then moved to Lewiston where he resided. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Etta Kuhn, one daughter (Debra K. Kuhn), one son (Steven E. Kuhn), and one brother (Robert G. Kuhn).
He is survived by his wife Alice of Lewiston; two daughters Elva and husband Mike Wilson of Ennis, Texas, Tonya and husband Wayne Simler of Kamiah; three sons, William (Billy Joe) Kuhn of Kamiah, Chris Kuhn of Lewiston, Brett Kuhn of Moscow; he raised one grandson, Aaron W. Kuhn of Lewiston; granddaughters Angel and husband Mike Lindsey of Lewiston, Stacy and husband Shawn Mittendorf of Lewiston, Denna Dawson, Danyelle Kuhn, Jennifer Purcell, Stephanie Kuhn (all of Texas), Debra Kuhn of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; grandsons, William G. Kuhn of Clearwater, Fla., Austin Kuhn of Moscow, Kyle Kuhn of Kamiah, Brett A. Kuhn of Kamiah, Jeffrey Kuhn of Texas, Zachary Kuhn of Texas; sisters Pamela (Dave) Barton of Wichita, Kan., and Beverly Root of New Mexico; sister-in-law Cheryl Kuhn of Hutchinson, Kan.; and too many great- and great-great-grandkids to name.
