Dee (Donald Dale Jr.) Pitcher, son, brother, husband, father, friend, born Jan. 11, 1956, to Donald Dale Pitcher Sr. and Iris Mae Hemphill Pitcher, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack Jan. 12, 2019, one day after his 63rd birthday and two days shy of the four-year anniversary of his daughter Kimberly’s passing.
Dee graduated from Highland High School in 1974, even after being quite the social animal that would define his life. He married Leanna Bashaw in 1979; they had two children, Kimberly Dawn and Casey William. He and Leanna divorced but remained friends. In 2009, he married Tina Roush, making Cottonwood their home. She passed away in 2014. He had recently become engaged to Missy Freand and was planning a July wedding.
He spent four years in the Navy Seabees and was a member of the Elk City American Legion.
He had many passions; one was as an advanced EMT and trainer while in Elk City.
He loved being in the outdoors: fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and road-tripping, instilling those traits in his children. He enjoyed bowling, jamming with other musicians—playing his harmonica, and socializing with friends and family. No one was a stranger for long where Dee was concerned. He loved being around people.
He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Iris; brother, Perry; daughter, Kimberly; niece, Heather; and nephew, Shawn. He is survived by his son, Casey (Lindsay); grandchildren, Orian and Raeley Beeler; sisters, Ren’a (Gary) Ball, Shal’a (Lyle) Rowan, and Erion (Mark) Smith; as well as nieces and nephews: Savannah, Sarah, J.C., Seth, Jessi, Sierra, and Nathan. He also left behind his fiancée, Missy and her children; his first wife, Leanna; his sister-in-law, Mellonie; several step-children from his second marriage; and his beloved dog, Andy.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Grangeville Eagles Hall, at 11 a.m. Bring a dish to share and stories to tell.
Arrangements are under the direction of Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville. You may submit your condolences online at blackmerfuneralhome.com.
