Beverly Norton died of complications from a stroke Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019 at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner, Ore. She was 92. She was born Jan. 10, 1927 in Oakland, Calif. to Vivian and Henry Wallace.
Beverly was a homemaker for most of her life, but she did work as a telephone operator for several years. Beverly and her husband owned and operated a dairy in California for a few years until they moved back to Idaho and then later moved to Heppner. She always shared she learned to bake and can from her mother-in-law while at the dairy.
Beverly married Ralph Norton on Sept. 19, 1953 in Oakland, Calif. Beverly had two sons, Tom and Richard with her first husband and then Bev and Ralph had two more sons, George and Ralph.
She loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, singing, camping, and playing cards and other games. She always loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her three sons Richard Norton and wife Rita of Missoula, George Norton and wife Trudy of Kamiah, Ralph Norton and wife Tami of Enterprise, daughter-in-law Pam Norton, 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Norton, a son and daughter-in-law Tom and Sue Norton, parents Vivian and Henry Wallace, her brother Robert Wallace, and her great-granddaughter Emily Koltonski.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Community Bible Church of Lexington with burial following at the Lexington Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend with a small meal being served following the services.
Memorial contributions can be made to Willow Creek Terrace Assisted Living or Pioneer Memorial Hospice in Bev’s name.
