On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, Michael Blaylock passed away suddenly at the age of 58 years. Mike will be forever remembered by his wife Jackie, his daughter Jordan, his mother Janice, his brother Greg, and sister Jenny. Mike will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
Mike was born into a military family on April 21, 1960, in Orlando, Fla. He graduated high school from Kamiah and immediately served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He then graduated from the University of Idaho in Electrical Engineering and has since spent his engineering career at the Chelan County PUD in Wenatchee, Wash. Aptly stated by his coworkers: “Mike had a positive, can-do, get-it-done attitude his entire career. He lived life to the fullest. Just when you thought you knew everything about him, he would tell you about another of his varied life experiences that left you thinking, ‘wow, never would have guessed that.’”
Having extensively travelled with his family around the country and living in many places, Mike cultivated a love for travel and experiences with different cultures. He knew no strangers and enjoyed having conversations and exchanging intellect with anyone he met. He delighted all with his flamenco style guitar playing, and recently took up the banjo to challenge his skills. He loved fishing and hunting, and enjoyed the pure beauty of nature. Mike will be remembered for his amazing culinary skills and his larger than life presence, his quick wit, endless jokes and story-telling. We will always cherish his loving spirit, Blaylock charm, humor, intelligence, fun-loving ways, and his GUSTO FOR LIFE!
In keeping with Mike’s wishes, the family will hold a private celebration of life.
