Allen Dean Pfefferkorn, 68, of Kooskia died June 20, 2018 at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.
Allen was born July 19, 1949 in Grangeville to Gerald and Frances (Weisbeck) Pfefferkorn. He was raised at the Pfefferkorn Brothers Ranch on Kidder Ridge. He enjoyed working with cattle with his dad and uncles. He attended school in Kooskia and graduated from Clearwater Valley High School. On Aug. 29, 1974 he married Beverly Lewis. They had two daughters, Kama and Krista. They divorced in April of 1980.
Allen worked at Star Cedar and Syringa Cedar Mill for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his girls and grandchildren. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. Everyone would come home. He enjoyed watching the kids opening gifts. Family was the highlight of his life.
He is preceded in death by his father Gerald Pfefferkorn and survived by his mother Frances (Weisbeck) Pfefferkorn, sisters Eunice Snyder and Julie Pfefferkorn, daughters Kama (Ken) Payton and Krista (Bill) Barrett, grandchildren Michael (Valary) Pfefferkorn, Shawn Pfefferkorn – Quintana, Bryan (Tasha) Pfefferkorn, Desirae Pfefferkorn, Cyrus Finnell, Hailey Barrett, Zachery Payton, great-grandchildren Cole Pfefferkorn, Huntik Preston, Quincy Montgomery, and a baby girl on the way, as well as aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Trenary Funeral Home Chapel in Kooskia. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery. A covered dish dinner will follow at 305 Front Street in Kooskia.
