Pearl Jeanette (Griner) Felmlee, 75, of Kooskia, sometimes known as Jan, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 at Syringa Hospital in Grangeville while holding granddaughter Crystal’s hand.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents Helen and George Griner, husband DJ Felmlee, daughter Barbie Miller, son Tommy Farlow, and great-grandson Gauge Wilson.
Jan is survived by two brothers, Larry Griner of Butte, Mont. and Dennis Griner of Palouse, Wash. Jeanette is also survived by two daughters, Diane Scott of Spring Creek, N.C. and Christine McNall of Kamiah. Jan had 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jan was employed most of her life in various positions including cooking, miner, bartender, truck driver, waitress, bookkeeper, car dealer, and in-home health care provider. She loved the outdoors; she especially loved to go camping and hunting. She was an excellent marksman. She loved to paint and do beautiful beadwork. Jan loved playing cards and attending jam sessions where she would sometimes play the bass guitar.
Jan was a loving mother and grandmother and pulled no punches; she told it how it was. She was such an amazing woman who could wear any hat. She had a raw sense of humor and a huge heart. Her practical jokes and fierce independence will be long remembered by those who loved her and those she loved. Although Jan spent time in Oregon, Montana, Minnesota, Washington, and California, Kooskia, Idaho in the Clearwater Valley was where she forever called home with her husband DJ and family. She raised her granddaughter Crystal Farlow as her own. Crystal was caregiver to Jan in later years and the family is grateful for all she has done.
Jeanette requested that she have no funeral and the family will respect her wishes. A gathering of friends and family will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank Trenary Funeral Home for their support through this time of loss. They also thank any and all who have known and loved Jeanette throughout her life. May the Lord in His Abundant Mercy welcome her lovingly into His heavenly Kingdom.
