All PRLD branches will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 23. Additionally, all branches will be closed on Monday, Dec. 11 for staff training. Closures and other library events can be found at prld.org/calendar. Many branches will have holiday activities coming up so that’s a great place to find out everything happening in the area libraries.
Storytime for preschoolers will not be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22 due to the holiday. We will resume on the 29th.
“Giving T.Hanks” Movie Month continues this week with Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 showing on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Open to the public and free for all ages, we start at about 1 p.m. Check out more dates on our website, prld.org/Kamiah.
Starting Dec. 6, we will show a movie for kids on Wednesdays when school lets out early. Find us on facebook or call the library at (208) 935-0428 for more information on this and other events.
Our writing group is ready to begin on Dec. 12! Join us on the second Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. to provide and get feedback and support. All ages are welcome, though this is geared toward adults. No experience is necessary – in fact, all of the interested participants indicate they have little or no experience. Bring your ideas or a short piece of writing you’d like to share. Contact the library for more details.
Don’t forget the book club meeting on Dec. 7 is a potluck and we’ll be discussing H is For Hawk by Helen Macdonald. Meet here at the library at 5:15 p.m. to talk about this memoir about grief and birds. The selection for January is The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, a comedy/drama about four adult siblings and the fate of their shared inheritance.
