The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office has been taking measures to reduce drug usage at the hot springs located on U.S. Highway 12.
Deputies have been patrolling Weir Hot Springs, milepost 142.2, and Jerry Johnson Hot Springs, milepost 151.5, both in uniform and undercover.
On June 30, one of these patrols resulted in multiple contacts and the following citations at Weir Hot Springs.
•Lydia B. Goetz, 22, of Moreno Valley, Calif., possession of controlled substance.
•Miranda C. Goetz, 22, of Missoula, Mont., possession of controlled substance.
•Cory M. R. Olsen, 28, of Missoula, Mont., possession of controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia.
•Roger N. Maney Jr., 42, of Burien, Wash., possession of controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia.
•Robert J. Murphy, 61, of Helena, Mont., invalid driver’s license.
“People go to the hot springs to enjoy themselves and they are unable to do so when others are there using drugs,” said Lieutenant Doug Ulmer.
