Billie Jean Orr was born in Warren, Ohio, on Dec. 18, 1930. Paul Grier Orr was born in Putneyville, Pa., on July 29, 1928. Paul later moved to Warren, where he met and fell in love with Billie — the girl next door.
Billie moved to North Hollywood, Calif., in her senior year of high school. After graduating, she returned to Warren. After serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, Billie and Paul were married on Sept. 11, 1949 in Warren.
Their son, Gary Orr of Kamiah, was born in July 1950. Their daughter, Beth Orr, of Astoria, Ore. was born in March 1967. They raised their children in Pacoima and Arleta, Calif.
Paul worked as sprinkler fitter for 40 years and Billie worked in retail department stores. Upon retiring, they moved to Idaho and took up residence in the small town of Cambridge where they spent their remaining years.
Billie passed away on March 30, 2017 in Weiser, Idaho, after a long illness.
After losing his wife of nearly 70 years, Paul passed away three months later on June 25, 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
They are survived by their two children, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
