Larry Aden Cantwell, 81, passed away at his home in Kamiah June 5, 2017 in the comfort of his own home with his loving wife Lennet at his side.
He was born Oct. 13, 1935 in Merrill, Ore. to David and Edna (Dyer) Cantwell, but grew up in Boise spending summers with his grandparents in Prineville, Ore.
Larry served nine years in the Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Larry will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was never too busy for a quick game of cribbage accompanied with his never ending dialog and quips. His willingness to share his love of camping and fishing with anyone who wanted to go, and he will definitely be remembered for his colorful storytelling of his youth and driving truck with raised eyebrows, fits of laughter and love.
He leaves behind his wife (with lots of instructions) of 38 years, Lennet, and a loving family of six children, Robert (Rose), Rodney (Christie), Tony (Marie), Susan (Mike), Tim (Aleta), Stefanie, Three step-children, Rita Mae Anderson, Wade Anderson, and Tanya Anderson Rost (Shawn).
Surviving were what he said was his greatest joy; his thirty-six grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Peggy Cantwell Barnhart, Sanna Kristine Cantwell,
one granddaughter, Elsie Christine Cantwell, one great grandson, Ryan Cache Cantwell, his mother Edna Dyer Hall and father, David S. Cantwell, and sister, Sharon Cantwell Schriber.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Trenary Funeral Home of Kooskia.
