College basketball March Madness is in full swing! How is your bracket? I picked a lot of winners, some underdogs but they came back and got the “W”!
Kamiah was active with their own March Madness, as teams, parents, grandparents and spectators came to town for the St. Patrick’s Day Youth Basketball tournament. The Wa-a’yas gym and the Kamiah Middle School were packed during all the tournament games. I am certain this tournament brought a lot of business to our little town. I enjoyed watching all the teams play, especially the Kamiah Nation Warriors as they won another championship in the 6th grade girls division! Oh yeah, these young girls are very skilled basketball players, they play well as a team. Hat’s off to Abraham and Susan Broncheau, Kamiah Nation Warrior’s parents, grandparents, the tournament teams, coaches, spectators, the referees, the people running the score boards and keeping stats, the gate keepers, and all volunteers that helped make this tournament a tremendous success for our youth. It makes my heart sing when events such as this bring our youth, families and the communities together enjoying a weekend of basketball!
