Senator Heinrich says “More work is required”
Senator Lee Heinrich (R-Cascade) has announced that he will stand for re-election to the Idaho State Senate for Legislative District 8. The district includes Valley, Idaho, Lewis and Clearwater Counties. Heinrich is a Republican and a longtime resident of Cascade.
“I am proud and honored to serve the people of District 8. I believe that during my time in the State Senate I have consistently fought to make sure the issues and concerns of my constituents, as well as all the people of Idaho, are addressed. If re-elected I will continue to work hard to preserve the freedoms our citizens hold most dear.”
Senator Heinrich is vice-chairman of Senate Local Government & Taxation where he has been instrumental in keeping new taxes from being implemented.
Heinrich continued, “I believe the work I have done in the Legislature and the legislation I have sponsored have helped improve the lives of my fellow neighbors but I feel more work is required to bring more jobs to our area and to the state of Idaho.”
First elected in 2006, he also serves on the Agricultural Affairs and Transportation Committees. He is particularly pleased to serve on all of these committees as they are of critical concern to the citizens of District 8.
Lee Heinrich has lived and worked in Valley County nearly his entire life and is a proud graduate of the University of Idaho. He and his wife Brenda have five children and 11 grandchildren.
Heinrich recently retired as county clerk of Valley County and has a long history of service to the community. He is the past president of both the Idaho Association of Counties and the Idaho Association of County Recorders & Clerks. He served for 17 years on the Board of Trustees for the Cascade Medical Center and continues to be chairman of the Cascade Rural Fire & EMS District.
